Deadline to request a mail-in (absentee) ballot

Applications can be sent to the registrar of voters by mail, fax, hand delivery, or electronically through the secretary of state’s website at GeauxVote.com by October 30th. Online Application: You may request an absentee by mail ballot by logging in to the Louisiana Voter Portal and following these steps: Click the “Search By Voter” button. Type in your First Name, Last Name and Zip Code or Birth Month and Year and then click the “Submit” button; Click the “Request Absentee Ballot” link found under the Quick Links heading; and Complete requested information and submit. Urban League Wake Up Geaux Vote Phone Bank

The Urban League of Louisiana is hosting a voter mobilization phone bank as a part of its Wake Up Geaux Vote initiative, a non-partisan, statewide voter education and mobilization effort. Join us in reminding residents across Louisiana to vote on election day! Register at https://www.mobilize.us/urbanleaguela/event/334980/ Please select the hours that you are able to phone bank between 4pm and 8pm on November 2nd. Virtual phone bank trainings will be provided in advance of the phone bank, and the Urban League will provide the virtual phone bank platform, a call list, and a script. The platform easily tracks responses and outcomes for the calls and uses an anonymous phone number to protect the volunteers’ privacy. Training is available. A: The November 3, 2020 presidential election is a statewide federal election for president, but it also includes congressional, state, and local office races, propositions, and seven constitutional amendments. Lake Charles Bus to the Polls

The Urban League of Louisiana has activated its Wake Up Geaux Vote campaign, a statewide, non-partisan voter education and mobilization initiative, and will take to the streets of Lake Charles on Election Day to bus residents to the polls for free. Urban League of Louisiana is offering the free bus rides from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 3rd, and will pick up residents at the three following locations in the order listed: First Stop Old Triplett’s Parking Lot 2118 Moeling St. Lake Charles, LA 70601 Second Stop New Covenant Faith Baptist Church 2233 12th St. Lake Charles, LA 70601 Third Stop Prien Lake Mall Parking Lot (behind JCPenny) NE Corner; W. Early Runoff Voting

Early voting is Nov. 20-28 from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (excluding Sunday, Nov. 22, Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) and Friday, Nov. 27 (Acadian Day); early voting is advanced one day because of the holidays).

Runoff Election Phone Bank

The Urban League of Louisiana is hosting a voter mobilization phone bank as a part of its Wake Up Geaux Vote initiative, a non-partisan, statewide voter education and mobilization effort. By signing up for November 30th and/or December 1, you will have access to the phone bank between the hours of 3:30-7:30 p.m. You do not need to select a specific time. If you have participated in any of our phone banks before, you will not need to attend a virtual phone bank training. The deadline to request an absentee by mail ballot is Dec. 1 by 4:30 p.m. You can request an absentee by mail ballot online through our Voter Portal or in writing through your Registrar of Voters Office (other than military and overseas voters).

The postmark deadline for a registrar of voters to receive a voted mail ballot is Dec. 4 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters).

Election Day Volunteer Opportunity

For the important runoff election on December 5th, join the Urban League of Louisiana in getting out on the streets to encourage voters to get to the polls! We will be out at key intersections across New Orleans with lots of energy andnew non-partisan signs, showing our support for voters. March Election Early Voting

Early voting for the Open Municipal/Congressional Primary is March 6 until March 13, except for Sunday, March 7. Early voting is 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 20 is the day to vote for the Open Municipal/Congressional Primary election. Polling locations are open from 7am - 8pm.
