  • New Orleans Guide to High School and Beyond Workshop

    STUDENTS will learn: How to determine what is important to them when choosing a high school and How to set themselves up for success starting in middle school. For parents, the workshop will: Facilitate comparing high schools and Provide tips and information to prepare their student for a smooth transition. Schools can request a virtual High School Guide workshop for their 7th and 8th grade students.     2021 PRIDE Virtual Leadership Academy Begins (Register Now)

    The Urban League of Louisiana's Parent Information Center believes that all students have the right to a quality and equitable education and that parents have the most authentic voice to challenge inequities through engagement and organized advocacy efforts. The PRIDE Leadership Academy offers participants an opportunity to learn current education policies and challenges in New Orleans, develop and enhance advocacy skills, develop and execute an advocacy project with the guidance of mentors and Urban League staff. The Academy will consist of 12 weekly training sessions (via Zoom) starting May 20. Sessions will take place from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. To register, click here.     School Supply Giveaway and Coat Giveaway

    The Urban League of Louisiana’s Parent Information Center, in partnership with Baptist Community Ministries, will host a School Supply Giveaway and Coat Giveaway Saturday, October 16 from 10am to 2pm at Champions Square. Attendees can expect an array of resources including school supplies, uniform vouchers, and a chance to win special prizes including a PlayStation 5!     Join our Parent Information Center for a Parent Charter Board Training on Feb 16 and 17 from 6pm-8pm. This training will provide objectives and outcomes related to governance and board member responsibilities that will equip participants for proper service. Additionally, participants will garner the confidence to be effective and instrumental in creating positive change within the educational landscape.
