As communities across the state of Louisiana begin to prepare for the potential impacts of a very active hurricane season, it is imperative that small businesses start now to evaluate risks and develop contingency plans to ensure the best outcomes for business recovery and continuity.

To support small businesses across the state of Louisiana in preparing for the 2022 hurricane season, the Urban League of Louisiana’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation will host “Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Resources Summit: Get Ready! Stay Ready!”, on Wednesday, July 13th, 9:30am-4:00pm. The event will take place at the New Orleans Jazz Market, 1436 OC Haley Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Lunch will be provided.

The event will feature presentations from the SBA LA District, SBA Office of Disaster Assistance, Governor’s Office of Homeland Security, LA Department of Insurance, LA Department of Transportation, and many others. Speakers will provide small businesses with information on how to protect their business and gain access to the resources needed to recover after a hurricane. Several other organizations will also be on site to share resources and to answer questions.
