K-BELLE Consultants

“The WBRC has played an instrumental role in assisting K-Belle with growth.  When I decided to broaden K-Belle’s services, WBRC helped me understand the steps and cost controls needed to grow smart.”

-Kristi Mirambelle, Owner

Kristi Hoke Mirambell earned a civil engineering degree at the University of New Orleans. She went to work, gaining experience in a variety of engineering projects. In 2008, Kristi acquired her professional engineering license and subsequently started her own firm, K-Belle Consultants.

The devastation of hurricane Katrina created a wealth of opportunity, but also brought a substantial number of larger engineering firms to the city. Initially, Kristi experienced significant challenges trying to compete in a male-dominated industry coupled with a fiercely competitive environment.

Slowly, K-Belle began to increase its capabilities, gradually obtaining larger, more lucrative contracts in both engineering and construction.  She attributes those successes to performing in a qualitative manner, which the company consistently maintains.

Kristi learned of services offered by the Contractors Resource Center (CRC), sponsored by the Women’s Business Resource Center in the summer of 2014, while participating in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.  She began working with a construction specialist at the Contractors Resource Center who worked with Kristi on developing and implementing a growth strategy, a stronger company vision and more lucrative goals, including teaming with other contractors to compete for larger projects. More importantly, the CRC audited K-Belle’s operations and assisted her in developing and streamlining the firm’s operational processes, which resulted in bigger profit margins.

K-Belle Consultants continues to successfully bid on large-scale projects in southeastern Louisiana and plans to expand to other southern states.
